Apply for Financial Aid
All undergraduate applicants—except international students—must complete a FAFSA (link is external) (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), a separate form required for grants, loans, and work study. There is no other application process for applying for financial aid than by completing the FAFSA. The FAFSA is available in October each year and the deadline is March 2. UC Berkeley's federal school code is 001312. California residents must complete a FAFSA and a GPA Verification form for Cal Grant (link is external) consideration.
60% of Berkeley students graduate without debt (compared to 43% national average from 4 year public school).
Scholarships
Admitted students are automatically considered for scholarships. International students are not eligible for federal financial aid or institutional aid managed by the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at UC Berkeley. However, the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office website provides information about other options:

Cal-culate Your Estimated Financial Aid
By answering a few simple questions, the Cal-culator presents an estimated financial aid award for prospective full-time undergraduate students, including any Berkeley Middle Class Access Plan (MCAP) award for which you may be eligible. The Cal-culator produces estimated values based on the information you provide.
